Pluggable Electrical Installations For Power & Signals

RST®20i6 (6-pin) and RST®20i7 (7-pin) connectors

As industry and building technologies continue to evolve through diverse applications, there are increasingly greater demands for fast and safe electrical installations for high-load applications. Wieland Electric is responsive to this demand by expanding our RST® CLASSIC portfolio to meet these needs. The new RST®20i6 (6-pin) and RST®20i7 (7-pin) connectors extend the versatility of electrical installations through increased functions. In addition, the connectors have an elevated Type 6P protection rating for outdoor use. An optional, integrated barrier seal prevents moisture from spreading along the cable system.

A comprehensive design philosophy, down to the last detail

Available in both screw and crimp connection technologies, the RST®20i6 and RST®20i7 connectors are capable of managing loads of up to 20A* and support conductors up to 2.5 mm². The RST®20i6 (6-pin) connector was developed specifically for dimmable emergency light applications, a key element in industrial safety. The RST®20i7 (7-pin) connector was developed as an ideal solution for combining polyphase systems with signals. Three codings ensure both mechanical and color-based differentiation between circuits, with an added safety feature that distinguishes between grounded and ungrounded wires. Mains and extra-low voltages (SELV) can be connected via internal insulation coordination inside a connector housing, with compact connectors allowing for high modularity and adaptability for dynamic application requirements. These models are provided in both straight or angular versions, as well as additional options compatible with all common cable diameters, including connectors with two cable inputs for through-wiring applications.

RST®: A versatile series for every project

The addition of 6 & 7-pin connectors to the RST® portfolio reflects our commitment to addressing the needs of end-users. In lighting applications, building, work-site power systems, factory & warehouse construction, solar, or even events technology, the universally pluggable installation system has a solution for any area of application. This begins with the smallest member of the RST® family, the recently launched miniature connector RST® MINI for extremely confined spaces, and extends through to the RST® POWER series, which includes powerful connectors for large cross-sections. The RST® CLASSIC series is the most comprehensive portfolio available on the market. Wherever RST® connectors are used, users benefit from the immense flexibility of the system and increase the operational readiness of their entire worksite as a result of the quick and simple assembly.

LED Lamps for Industrial Applications

LED LampsWith its new high-intensity PODIS® LED lamps, WIELAND offers pluggable, maintenance-free lighting solutions for construction, industrial and machine applications.

The PODIS® LED lighting components are especially well-suited for use in industrial applications. Their rugged and durable lamp design ensure high reliability. The high-quality light delivers 2000 lumens with customizable light colors and illumination patterns. These pluggable fixtures ensure flexibility while minimizing installation errors, time, and the need for specialized labor.

Different light distribution curves can be selected depending on the application. A lamp with a standard dispersion is well-suited for uniform illumination of a work area or room. Narrow light cones are possible to illuminate localized work areas such as workstations and a confined area of a machine. Wide light cones are also ideally suited for long and narrow areas such as hallways, tunnels, shafts or wind towers.

Features of the PODIS® LED 2000 lm:

  • Various light distribution patterns  Led Lamp Podis Round Connector
  • Optimized for work areas, escape routes, shafts, towers, tunnels and more
  • Flicker-free and glare-free lighting
  • Efficient light source
  • Fast, pluggable installation
  • Rugged design
  • Maintenance-free and extremely durable
  • Corrosion-resistant (IP69K)
  • Wide temperature range (-25°C to +45°C)
  • AC and DC power supplies are possible
  • Metal mounting base
  • cULus approved for wet locations
  • Compact 5W versions and high powered 50W version are also possible
  • Magnetic mounting bases are possible

These lamps are available with WIELAND RST® circular connectors or can be connected directly to the PODIS® flexible busbar system. The latter is well suited to use in conveyor systems such as baggage handling systems in airports or post & parcel systems in logistics warehouses. In addition, the system can be used in production facilities such as the automotive industry, and for service & emergency lighting inside elevator shafts and wind towers.

RST16i5 – NEMA4X Power Connector

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Q5tM88DZj38

Wieland Electric Inc., a leading global manufacturer of innovative electrical interconnect technology, has released a small industrial circular power connector with Type 4X/6P protection. Rated for 600V and 16A, the new RST® MINI 5-pole, circular power connectors (RST16i5) are designed to simplify, speed up, and reduce the cost of wiring installations in lighting, building automation, and industrial applications.

RST MINI connectors utilize Wieland’s innovative TWISTLOCK technology to securely mate the two connector halves. Users simply push the two halves together, and a lock ring automatically twists to secure the connection. RST MINI Series connectors are also mechanically and color-coded to improve assembly time and reduce the potential for installation errors.

“Our new RST MINI Series connectors deliver plug-and-play power capabilities that are currently unrivaled in the building automation and industrial markets. Their small, yet robust design is ideal for use in harsh environments, and can serve as an effective replacement for conventional panel cable glands,” said Martin Lalonde, application engineer at Wieland Electric. “Further, their screw terminals simplify field assembly and service work.”

RST MINI Series connectors are available in cable- or panel-mounted versions. The cable-mounted version accommodates cables from 7.1mm to 13mm in diameter. The panel-mounted version has M20 threads that feature a flat spot designed to improve the ease of installation. Additionally, regardless of color and coding, the RST16i5 connector has: cULus approvals for up to 600V, 16A, and 22 – 16AWG; cULus disconnect under load for up to 350VAC; and environmental ratings up to IP69K, Type 4X and Type 6P.

Custom cable assemblies and distribution boxes designed to suit individual application requirements are also available.
